The Out-Of-Court Settlement Of Disputes And Complaints
Members of the Insurance Brokers Association of Slovenia operate in compliance with the Code of Good Business Practices, the purpose of which is to ensure that the principles of loyal competition, professional ethics and morality are complied with. The Code defines good business practices and wrongful acts in insurance brokerage.
Additionally, Association members are bound by the Code to meet the legal provisions and regulations that clearly define the responsibility of insurance brokers to act in the best interests of the policy holders. By defining a set of expert criteria for operation, the Code is promoting the development of insurance brokerage and improving the quality of services (source: Insurance Brokers Association of Slovenia).
Violations of the Code of Good Business Practices are resolved by the Arbitral Tribunal of the Insurance Brokers Association of Slovenia. The operation of the Arbitral Tribunal is governed by the Rules on the organisation and procedure at the Arbitral Tribunal of the IBAS.
The procedure at the Arbitral Tribunal is initiated on the basis of a report, which can be submitted by anyone. The report should contain:
- information on the member of the Insurance Brokers Association of Slovenia accused of the violation,
- a description of the violation,
- evidence of the alleged violation; the evidence must be submitted with the report.
